UCVTS Shared Time Information and Application Process
Application Process
Students interested in attending UCCTI, either Shared-Time or in the Transition Program, must apply by the spring of the year prior to attendance. Applicants must be enrolled as a student in high school, and 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students are welcome to apply. Twelfth grade students may apply with permission from their local district school counselor.
Applicants are selected from a diverse population of students in each of the twenty-one school districts of Union County. Out-of-county applicants are considered after all county resident applications have been reviewed.
Step One: Submit an Online Application
The UCCTI Application (coming in November 2024) must be completed in the year prior to the year of attendance. Completing the application on a computer will provide you with a better experience than utilizing a phone.
Step Two: Submit a Student Records Release Form
Applicants are responsible for submitting a signed Records Release Form (coming in November 2024) to their current school counselor or case manager.
Step Three: School Records Submitted to UCCTI
Applicants' current school counselor or case manager will complete the high school portion of the Records Release Form and submit it with requested documents directly to the UCCTI Admissions Office.
Priority Application vs. Wait-List Application vs. Open Program Application
For the best chances of being considered for your most-preferred program(s), please be sure to apply by the Priority Application deadline of February 28, 2025. Your application is not considered complete until we receive a thoroughly completed Records Release Form and all required records. Incomplete applications will not be given full consideration.
Students that apply as Wait-List applicants are considered after all Priority applicants have been reviewed, and only for programs in which seats are still available. Just like Priority applicants, your Wait-List application is not considered complete until we receive a thoroughly completed Records Release Form and all required records, and incomplete applications will not be given full consideration.
If seats remain open in any of our programs, we will post the Open Program Application by early June. You will only be able to apply to programs for which we have space available, and selections will be updated as classes are filled. Decisions are made on a "rolling" basis, so your patience is appreciated. Your Open Program application is not considered complete until we receive a thoroughly completed Records Release Form and all required records, and incomplete applications will not be given full consideration.
